The opening of Maramba Barangay High School was initiated by the late Cesar
Ragodon, former teacher of Maramba Elementary School with the support of the late
Levino Briones, the former Barangay Captain, and the late Mrs. Belen Ragodon, former
Principal of Maramba Elementary School.
The school started in 1976 through a resolution passed by the Barangay Council
headed by Mr. Briones and endorsed by the principal of the elementary as well.
In 1981, the pioneer students of Maramba High School graduated. It was during
this year also that Mr. Ragodon was appointed to act as Teacher-In-Charge of the high
school and at the same time of the elementary school because his wife went to the
United States. Mr. Ragodon assumed the position for seven years as TIC of Maramba
High School.
During the first year of operation, the students and the teachers used rooms
and facilities of the elementary. But before the transfer of Mr. Ragodon as Head Teacher
of Cagmanaba Elementary School, a resolution was passed by the PTA Officials of
Maramba Elementary School donating one of the two sites to the high school, since the
Former had two sites, so that permanent buildings could be constructed in the high
School to meet the needs of the increasing number of students.

1. The sea and mountains symbolize the source of livelihood of the people of the community.
2. The book as the source of knowledge and wisdom.
3. The torch and its rays symbolize the enlightenment in the pursuit of wisdom and knowledge.
4. The rising sun is the symbol for hope.
5. The clouds symbolize the obstacles and hardships encountered during the establishment of this institution by the founder, the late Mr. Cesar Ragodon, and on its continuous operations.
6. 1976 – The year when it was founded.
